SOF® Tourniquet

The newest evolution of the SOF® Tourniquet sets the benchmark for prehospital tourniquets. Purposeful upgrades allow for smoother and faster one-handed and two-handed applications for the most effective bleeding control. It easily slides over an arm or leg, and it unclips at the buckle to fit around hard-to-reach areas, such as a trapped limb.

Noteworthy Upgrades in the New SOF® Tourniquet:

1) Performance Compression Band

Completely redesigned webbing maximizes compression during the application process. At a true 1.5″ width, the new performance material glides through the Rugged Buckle for quick, snag-free operation and minimizes loss of pressure over time after application.

2) Slack Indicator Wedge

Stitched into the Performance Compression Band below the windlass. The contrasting wedge offers a visual confirmation you have pulled all excess slack from the band. This is a critical step for proper tourniquet application and results in fewer windlass rotations required to reach occlusion.

3) Rugged Buckle

Engineered to remove excess slack in a single fluid motion. The buckle’s shape stabilizes the Performance Compression Band at any angle of engagement. The new Rugged Buckle is an advanced, lightweight composite design with superior strength over previous versions.

OLAES® Modular Bandage

OLAES® Modular BandageThe OLAES® Modular Bandage is the newest generation of trauma bandages and is advantageous for all levels of care providers.

Packed with features such as 3 meters of gauze, a removable occlusive plastic sheet behind the OLAES® trauma dressing pad, and a pressure cup that can also act as a rigid eye shield, the advanced capabilities of the medical bandage are tucked neatly away and can be utilized if required or simply ignored. No hooks or clips to confuse or delay care. Velcro® ‘Control’ strips prevent the elastic roll from accidentally unraveling and secure the emergency bandage throughout the application process.

This OLAES® dressing is designed with direct input from some of the most experienced combat medics in the world, no detail has been left out. From the adhesive ‘brakes’ on the elastic bandage that prevent accidental unrolling to the zig-zag-packed gauze that easily feeds from the tactical bandage, this is the most comprehensive feature-packed bandage available without any added confusion.

No other medical dressing bandage offers so much versatility in such a small package. Cover minor wounds, apply truly effective pressure dressings, apply occlusive dressings, and have the ability to pack severe wounds with one OLAES® Modular Trauma Bandage.

Application Efficiency:

During high-stress situations, such as those involving casualties, stress effects on human performance often affect the fine motor skills of individuals. This makes simple tasks such as bandage application more difficult and time-consuming. By creating a pressure bandage where the application involves only gross motor skills, no direction changes around hooks or bars, the OLAES® Modular Bandage significantly offers a simpler and more effective solution in bandage dressing options.

The elastic combat dressing simply requires wrapping where the elastic stays flat instead of turning into a cord. Control of the elastic roll is maintained by the ‘Control Strips’ should the elastic be dropped. You no longer have to open or carry gauze and a bandage separately as both are included in the same package.

OLAES® Modular BandageA True Pressure Cup:

The unique pressure cup generates true focused pressure on top of the wound site where it is required, not circumferential pressure like an ineffective tourniquet. The generated focused pressure helps occlude damaged vessels at the wound site where it is needed. It also reduces the amount of manual pressure required to be held, freeing up the care provider to treat other injuries or casualties.

The pressure cup can also be removed and used as a rigid eye shield for the treatment of ocular injuries as recommended in CoTCCC guidelines.

Features Include:

Latex-free

Elastic wrap with built-in ‘control strips’ to prevent inadvertent unraveling

3 meters of sterile 4-ply gauze

The plastic occlusive sheet included in the dressing pocket

Transparent pressure cup that focuses pressure on the wound site and allows for visual inspection of uncontrolled hemorrhage

OLAES® Hemostatic Bandage

The OLAES® Hemostatic Bandage combines the OLAES® Modular Bandage with the HemCon® ChitoGauze® PRO to create the most comprehensive trauma bandage for multiple injury profiles. Both proven life-saving devices are now together in a single, easily accessible package to increase any level of pre-hospital care provider’s treatment capabilities while reducing application times and saving space in your kit. One of few CoTCCC recommended hemostatic dressings, ChitoGauze® PRO features chitosan as the hemostatic agent, is X-Ray detectable, and is located inside the bandage’s wound pad for rapid access at the point of injury

  • Stocked with 3″x12′ of ChitoGauze® PRO hemostatic gauze, ideal for a variety of applications and wound surfaces.

2) True Pressure Cup

  • Generates focused pressure on the wound site to assist occluding damaged vessels. It can also serve as a rigid eye shield for ocular injuries per CoTCCC guidelines.

3) Wound Pad

  • Covers the injury site to assist with sustained bleeding control and keep the wound clear of debris. Its non-adherent compartment keeps gauze tucked neatly inside for rapid access during application.

4) Velcro® Control Strips

  • Built-in Velcro® Control Strips stationed along the bandage’s elastic wrap prevent accidental unrolling during application.

5) Elastic Wrap

  • Secures the gauze and wound pad to the injury site and assists in maintaining consistently applied pressure.

6) Securing Clip

  • Locks the bandage into place to free up the user’s hands to treat other injuries or casualties.

7) Easy-Tear Points

  • Intuitive, rapid access to the sterile bandage is achieved through multiple tear points indicated by red arrows at each package corner.

The TacMed™ Uniformed Medical Kit (UMK) 2nd Generation builds upon the success of the first generation UMK. The UMK 2nd Gen greatly decreases the signature of the device over the original by moving the medical gear and pockets behind a flat panel, eliminating any imprinting under the officer’s duty shirt. In addition, the UMK 2nd Gen increases comfort and durability as it reduces the thickness of the device with a new material that stretches to the shape of the officer’s vest. The new design allows the UMK 2nd Gen to fit ANY concealed body armor carrier that utilizes hook and loop straps, plus the sides can be trimmed for a custom fit. The UMK 2nd Generation is designed to carry the SOF® Tourniquet with additional pockets designed to carry a set of chest seals, hemostatic agent, and the Esmark Bandage.

Designed to carry a SOF® Tourniquet, chest seal, and a hemostatic agent or standard gauze, the AMK disappears in the pleat of slacks and most other uniform bottoms. The ankle wrap that secures the components extends to become a compression wrap once the other lifesaving products have been utilized.

K9 Tourniquet

The K9 Tourniquet has been engineered to work effectively on tapered anatomy, such as the leg of a K9, and is designed to be placed high on the limb. It has integrated traction technology that prevents the dog tourniquet from slipping down the animal’s leg, which would result in a loss of compression. The slippage is amplified when the animal is started to be moved and extricated. Slippage is a common occurrence when tourniquets or pressure dressings designed for humans are used on such tapered anatomy. The K9 Tourniquet addresses these issues and does so with a quick application time.  *** Not for human use. ***

The contents of the Active Shooter Response Kit (ARK™) are designed to reduce the size of the required rescue force and significantly reduce the evacuation time of seriously injured casualties. By utilizing uninjured individuals on scene to provide stopgap treatment and mark casualty locations, rescue time can be greatly reduced and survivability rates can be increased. The ARK™ Casualty Throw Kits contain basic treatment material and simple bi-lingual instructions for providing initial treatment. By controlling life threatening hemorrhage and positioning the casualty in a manner that maintains the airway, the active shooter first aid trauma kit allows responders to gain significant time in the rescue effort.
